New Instagram Feature: Go Live Exclusively for Close Friends
Instagram is rolling out a new way for users to interact with their closest friends starting today with the Close Friends Live feature.
According to Endgadget, Friday (June 21, 2024), users can now limit the audience of their Instagram Live sessions exclusively to followers included in their Close Friends list.
This feature allows users to share personal stories with a select group of friends via Instagram Live. It also gives influencers the option to host private live streams for a more intimate audience.
Previously, Instagram allowed users to restrict posts and Reels visibility to their Close Friends list starting November 2023.
Instagram stated that users are looking for more personal ways to connect with friends and followers. To meet this demand, the Meta-owned platform has introduced features for sharing content privately, including Direct Messages (DMs) and more personalized Notes.
Enhancements in Instagram Notes
Instagram has also improved the Notes feature, addressing aspects that were previously overlooked. Users can now post videos through Notes.
Additionally, Notes now display a festive confetti animation when wishing a friend a happy birthday. This animation appears when users type phrases like “happy birthday” or other birthday-related words while mentioning a friend’s account.
The Close Friends Live feature makes Instagram more personalized and private, giving users and creators new ways to engage their most important connections in a safe and intimate setting.
