Instagram Is Developing a Profile Sharing Feature for Stories

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, continues to roll out new features across its platforms to keep users engaged for longer periods.
Most recently, Instagram—one of the world’s largest social media apps—is reportedly preparing to introduce new features to enhance user experience.
With more than 2.5 billion users, Instagram is now working on a new Profile Sharing feature that will allow users to share someone else’s Instagram profile directly in their Stories.
According to Gizchina, Wednesday (December 29, 2023), the information was revealed by well-known app developer and leak source Alessandro Paluzzi.
He stated that Instagram is actively developing this upcoming profile-sharing tool. Why this feature? On social media, it’s common for users to want to promote or highlight someone else’s account from time to time.
This feature will make it easier for users to promote other profiles through their Stories.
Clickable Profiles That Followers Can Follow Immediately
Once this feature becomes available, users will be able to share another user’s profile in their Stories—and the shared profile will be clickable. This means followers who view the Story can click the profile and instantly follow it.
This feature could be especially helpful for users who want their followers to support or follow a business account. Paluzzi also shared an image on X showing a “View Profile” button.
This button acts as an invitation for viewers and will take them directly to the shared Instagram profile.
Instagram’s upcoming Profile Sharing feature could become a new way to engage followers. It may also serve as an effective method to promote new accounts and help them gain more followers.
For content creators, sharing profiles through Stories could become a powerful tool to attract fresh audiences. Unfortunately, Instagram has not yet announced when this feature will officially roll out.
