Hi-Fi Rush has become the third former Xbox exclusive—following Pentiment and Grounded—to be confirmed for release on another platform, with the latter two reportedly heading to the Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks, Hi-Fi Rush is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 (PS5) on March 19, 2024.

This rhythm-action game from Tango Gameworks is finally making its way to PS5 after previously debuting on Xbox and PC.

The arrival of Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded is part of Xbox chief Phil Spencer’s broader plan to expand Microsoft’s gaming business.

Unfortunately, there is still no official information on when Hi-Fi Rush will become available on the Nintendo Switch.

What Is Hi-Fi Rush?

Hi-Fi Rush is a vibrant, rhythm-based action game set in a colorful world where everything—from character movement to combat—is synchronized to the beat of the music.

Unlike traditional action games, every element in Hi-Fi Rush moves to the rhythm, including the flow of battles.

Because players must match their attacks to the beat to earn high combo scores, the gameplay feels energetic, fun, and deeply satisfying.

Hi-Fi Rush Storyline

The story follows Chai, a young man who dreams of becoming a rock star.

However, his life takes an unexpected turn when an evil robotics corporation accidentally fuses an old music player into his heart and labels him as “defective.”

Hunted by the company’s robotic army, Chai must fight back through rhythm-based combat with the help of his quirky allies to defeat the corporation’s ruthless leaders and escape.

Adding to the excitement, the game features licensed tracks from iconic rock bands such as Nine Inch Nails and The Black Keys, enhancing the overall experience.
