Doku Launches WaaS-Based E-Wallet for Consumers and Businesses Images

Doku has introduced a new e-wallet infrastructure connected through an Application Programming Interface (API) under a Wallet as a Service (WaaS) model.

This service enables business partners to integrate e-wallet features into their ecosystems, helping them manage cash flow and facilitate customer transactions.

Nabilah Alsagoff, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Doku, explained that Doku’s e-wallet has long operated under Bank Indonesia’s e-money and e-wallet licenses as one of the payment options within the company’s service ecosystem.

“Through various interactions with merchants, we’ve gathered new ideas to optimize how this service can be utilized,” Nabilah said in an official statement on Thursday (January 25, 2024).

With the WaaS innovation, the company hopes businesses across different industries can enjoy more convenience and flexibility in managing daily financial flows.

“For app-based businesses, adding e-money features into their applications becomes much easier as well. All they need is to connect through Doku,” she added.

Two Types of E-Wallet Services

Through its WaaS platform, Doku offers two types of solutions tailored to different market segments:

1. Business E-Wallet

This service helps manage cash flow within a merchant’s internal ecosystem. Cash distribution is often a time-consuming routine task if not handled properly.

For example, a coffee shop chain with many branches may require its headquarters to distribute daily cash to multiple outlets spread across various cities.
