Threads Becomes More Personal — Users Will Soon Be Able to Customize Their Own Feeds

Meta has announced that Threads is testing a new feature for its users. The information was shared directly by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
According to a report from TechCrunch on Monday (November 18, 2024), the new feature currently being tested is custom feeds. With this feature, users can personalize what appears on their Threads timeline.
This means users can select topics or profiles they want to follow more closely, making it easier to interact and have better control over the content shown in their feeds.
The trial of this feature is believed to be influenced by the rising popularity of Bluesky—a platform similar to Threads and X—which already allows users to build and manage their own feeds.
To create a custom feed on Threads, users simply search for the topic or profile they want. Then, tap the three-dot icon and choose “Create New Feed.”
Users can also add specific accounts to their custom feeds by visiting the desired profile, tapping the three-dot icon above the profile photo, and selecting the option to add to feed.
However, not all Threads users have access to this feature yet, as Meta is still in the testing phase.
Those included in the test group will see the custom feed option when they pull down on the main screen. The new feed will appear alongside the existing Following and For You tabs.
For now, Threads has not confirmed when the custom feeds feature will roll out globally. Users will need to wait for further updates from Meta.
