Spotify to Introduce Lossless Audio, Offering Higher-Quality Music Streaming

After a long wait, Spotify is finally preparing to roll out its highly anticipated Lossless Audio feature. This upgrade has been one of the most requested features among users.
According to a report from Android Headlines on Friday (April 19, 2024), the streaming giant is gearing up to offer high-quality audio as an additional option for its subscribers.
This move will place Spotify on par with competitors like Apple Music, which has already offered high-resolution audio streaming for some time.
For context, Lossless Audio delivers significantly higher detail and clarity than standard formats such as MP3. The goal is to closely match studio-quality sound, preserving audio details that are often lost when streaming in lower-quality formats.
Spotify originally announced plans for Spotify HiFi back in February 2021, promising CD-quality, lossless audio before the end of that year. However, the feature never launched, leaving Spotify trailing behind Apple Music in terms of audio quality offerings.
According to Reddit leaker Hypixely, Spotify is now working on a new lossless feature called “Music Pro.”
Rather than arriving as a separate subscription tier, Music Pro will be added as an enhancement to existing plans. The feature will reportedly include advanced remixing tools, allowing users to modify songs with TikTok-style remix effects.
Additionally, Music Pro may optimize audio output for specific headphones, further enhancing the overall listening experience.
