Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia Launches in Select Countries
Electronic Arts (EA) has officially begun a limited or soft launch for the newest entry in its popular game series, Plants vs. Zombies, titled Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia.
However, Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia is currently available only in early access in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, the Philippines, and the Republic of Ireland for mobile devices. Indonesia is not yet included in the list.
According to the game’s official website on Saturday (January 20, 2024), EA confirmed that it plans to roll out Plants vs. Zombies 3 (PvZ3) to more countries.
“Explore the world of Neighborville with the return of classic lane-based tower gameplay, featuring an exciting mix of new and returning characters,” EA wrote.
EA also promises that the game will bring back the “classic battles from the original game.” At the same time, Plants vs. Zombies 3 will introduce a story mode with puzzle and adventure elements.
Additionally, EA stated that the company is actively monitoring and gathering feedback from early access players in the participating countries.
According to The Verge, PvZ3 will be free-to-play, but will still offer paid content through microtransactions.
The first Plants vs. Zombies game was released for PC and Mac in 2009 before making its way to mobile devices.
The game later expanded to more platforms after PopCap Games—the developer—was acquired by EA in 2011. Plants vs. Zombies 2 was launched in 2013.
Several spin-offs followed, such as The Battle for Neighborville and Garden Warfare, which adopted a third-person shooter and action style.
According to Gamerant, the official release of Plants vs. Zombies 3 is expected sometime this year, with the game launching on both iOS and Android.
